Well, we are all moved in here in Scottsdale! I am loving the unpacking and organizing of our cute and compact, resort style apartment! (Luxury, nature, and convenience are totally intentional!)
But I just had to interrupt my chores and take time to say I appreciate you, wish you a very Happy New Year, and share some thoughts that have been floating around my head as I settle into our new home.
Who doesn’t like the new year? So much hope to begin fresh, to leave behind what didn’t work the previous year and shift into something better in the new one. But for many, little changes.
We were out last night and I asked several people we encountered if they were excited about what lies ahead. Mostly what I received was a shrug of the shoulders and a “eh… “ Kind of sad, don’t you think?
I don’t know how you feel about this time of year, but cosmically, there is a force in operation! This is the perfect time of year to renew your faith, set your intentions, and DREAM BIG!
Yes, anytime of year, you can hit the reset button and begin anew. God’s mercies are new every morning! Favor abounds in all circumstances, at all times, in all things. I firmly believe that!
But there is just something about the new year that makes it easier to get our thoughts and strategies aligned with an INFINITE, UNLIMITED God!
Recently I read one social media post that revealed the secret to success and fulfillment was to “Expect Less.”
I cringed inside. While expecting less sounds unselfish and even noble, it’s really just a protective device to keep you from getting disappointed.
Protecting yourself will disable your dreams.
As you have read in my blogs posts throughout 2015, I experienced and achieved things beyond my wildest dreams! http://maryannehmann.com/dreams-and-beyond-do-come-true/
I made more money than ever doing what I am here to do, what I love to do, and what I am excellent at doing. I served more people, more powerfully. And I had a ton of fun along the way. (And you can, too, by the way. Contact me if you are interested in knowing how!)
I also experienced adventures…. Like going on auditions for tv commercials, selling our mini-estate and moving across country… in a 2 months’ time period! Was that on my radar at the beginning on last year? Not even close. But I take seriously this passage –
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your understanding, but acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5
Did I not experience hardship, frustration, and pressures galore? Of course!! And sometimes, truth be known, I was tempted to give up. I had moments of doubt where I wondered if I was on the right track, if what I was doing was worth the hard work, the energy, and expense.
But in those times, I leaned on,
“In this world there will be tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” For me, this was especially meaningful, when I think of the world of fear and anxiety!
An adventurous, magnificent lifestyle can sometime be fraught with danger and fear of the unknown! But lean in to God and commit to that which He has committed to you! It’s so worth it!
So, let me ask you… what are you expecting in 2016?
Let God Dream For You
Why not let God dream for you? Why not tap into His thoughts and visions for you? And why not come to my January event and let us help you do so? I would love, love, love to see you there!
With love and great expectations…
